Morning session to stretch and discover our bike legs. Groups will be split into 3 speeds. This will be a good ride if you are on the edge of two groups to decide who to join. You can always change later, especially if you have a few too many Riojas one night!!
Many of us simply run. We have never been taught correct technique which is essential when looking at endurance running and efficiency. This session will dial in some good habits that you can use during the week.
3 groups will depart race HQ once again and cycle around the island. Distance and times to be confirmed.
At the end of the bike session – we will aim to run off the bike for 5k and 10k options.
Mallorca is perfect if you are training for a hilly event or want to develop some strength and endurance in your legs. Some of the most breath-taking rides are literally on the doorstep. Again the rides will be split into 3, with some serious coffee and cake stops being discovered!
We will have access to the Best Swim Centre, one of the most incredible swim facilities in Europe. As our Host Matthew O’Connor also runs the training week and the upcoming LCW Mallorca, this will be a great time to get some valuable hints and tips from a UK Elite Swimmer.
Time to don the trainers and run the stunning coastline and put into practice some of the new techniques you have learnt over the week.
Visit Palma, shop till you drop or put your feet up and work on your pre-season Tan. Its rest time!
Back on the track to refine those skills. Maybe even a little speedwork?
Time to put it all together with a run, bike run…..
It’s time to go Long, like 100 long for our top riders! A key ride for all 3 groups.
Time to reflect and kick back…. LCW STYLE!
Time to leave or extend your stay a few extra days!
Can I bring my friends and family?
Absolutely! Make a holiday of it and bring everyone along, we have a price for non camp participants based on twin room sharing but we can provide you with the best possible prices for families. Just pop us a message.
What equipment do I need to bring? Do I need to bring my own bike?
All equipment is available for hire in resort. Anything from all singing and dancing bikes to everyday use. We recommend going direct to suppliers so that you can get the best equipment for you. However, if you are used to and would prefer to bring your own then you can of course do this. Depending who you fly with prices will vary but are normally around £100 and are on first come first served basis. Even if you don’t bring the bike you can bring your own helmet, pedals etc.
What will the standard of the training groups be?
We have split each session into 3 groups.
Elite Athletes – (17mph +)
Mid range – (14-16mph)
Beginner and casual – At your own pace, regular stops.
You do not have to stay in these groups and can change if you need or want to each day.
Can non-participants take part in individual sessions during the week?
Colonia De Sant Jordi is a beautiful part of the island so there are plenty of opportunities for independent swims or runs etc. Unfortunately due to insurance implications the training schedule has to be as a block and can’t be entered as individual sessions.
What's the minimum age for someone to take part in the training week?
The training break is available to all ages.
I’m sure I’ll have the best time ever! Can I extend my stay?
Yesss, as long as we can stay too! Give us a call and we can can get the very best rates at the hotel if you choose to make your stay longer. If you decide to do this once you’re in resort then the reception team will be on hand to keep you topping up the tan! (Subject to availability)
What will the food be like? Will I be catered for with dietary requirements?
After working up your appetites you’ll be well looked after at the Blau hotel. With show cooking of international cuisines and weekly Majorcan specialities you’ll probably come away feeling like a local! Allergies and dietary requirements will be catered for with many options, however if you do have concerns then please contact the hotel prior to arrival. Don’t forget to visit the dessert bar!!
Will I have free time?
Yes sir-ee! You will have as much or as little as you want after all it’s your training break. We recommend getting out and about for at least one afternoon to discover the sights Majorca has to offer. We have scheduled an afternoon of free time but by all means you do not have to stick to the schedule every day, if you fancy an afternoon off, be our guest. If you need any help on what to see and do in resort speak to one of the team and we’ll be happy to play tour guide!
Can you help me book a transfer?
We haven’t included this in the price as we understand many people want to make their own arrangements, car hire etc. If you do require a shuttle service we can help with this, drop us a message and we’ll get this sorted.
BEST – Bluewater Elite Sports Training Centre – is the number one outdoor Olympic swim centre in Europe, and has attracted sports teams and individual athletes from across the world for training camps and clinics for the past 10 years. But where did it all start?
The BEST Centre – a sports centre with an Olympic swimming pool as its centrepiece – was developed by two former Olympic swimmers James Parrack and Matthew O’Connor, who recognised an opportunity to use their experience, expertise and talent to build a world-renowned training centre.
Co-founders James and Matthew grew up in local swimming clubs and both went on to represent Great Britain at the 1988 and 1992 Olympic Games respectively. Throughout their swimming careers, both have experienced all levels of training camps all over the world, from youngsters with their local clubs, to seniors with the British team.
With a life-time of first hand experience, Matthew and James set up the company Bluewater Training Camps, where they successfully organised and delivered club training camps and Family Swim Holidays across Europe. After recognising their talent and success, they then built a Centre where they could do all of this and more – and so they began looking for the perfect location to build their sports centre.
The BEST Centre was opened on the 4th of July 2009. After recognising a gap in the market for a sports centre situated within a town environment, yet away from the hustle, bustle and distractions of city life, the small, picturesque coastal town of Colonia Sant Jordi proved the perfect location. With short walks between hotels, beaches, the harbour, shops, restaurants and the pool, and with hiking, biking, kayaking, caving, sailing, fishing, snorkeling and the beautiful island of Cabrera just off the coast, there is plenty to ensure all visitors have an unforgettable experience.

Throughout her athletic career, Pam was both American and Iberoamerican Champion, and took part at the Panamerican Games in Rio 2007 where she won the Italian Team Championship title.
